I think your info graphic is clear in the comparison between where it was originated and date but i think some text should be included providing the types of object sense your icons are about crime scene investigation objects. there are also some ways to improve on the type with image of countries. Greece seems to be illegible on the 11x17 print out. maybe placing the country names vertically in the double line to the left of each country. The proportions of measurement stays the same as bigger jumps in time change and distort the overall evolution ( i still receive the actually date by type but graphically i would like to see a change in measurement. At first i thought this was ok and would be confusing in another way. Logan brought up the idea of increasing the over all scale of each time line as time proceeds...

I also think there is a bit of distraction in the overall use of line. you have lined paper for the background, lines connecting icon to the improvement and also lines connecting it to the actual date. along with short lines showing date increments. I think this is also an issue with scale for the lined paper compared to the connecting lines. The paper lines are bigger then any other line on the infograph and could be breaking up the improvement line too much. I seem to not follow the icons from america down to the date or information. there all close and could be improved by making the earliest dates scaled larger like stated earlier. Like Jamie brought up today in class I also think you really should explore the line explorations sense your using so many.

We talked about color and brought up using color for the first uses of each icon should be in color. this would also eliminate the small scale difference in the others that are not as obvious in black and white. I would like to see an implied space that contains the icons being graphed and not bleed right into all the other information. ( nothing between iraq and tweezers). The use of a light transparent block over it should clarify this. This will give a highlight on the graph and still draw you down into the information below.

overall i think exploring a variety of lines connecting specific informations should be worked out.
Time line and paper scaling could be considered in showing importance and hierarchy.
Color should also be involved in showing the important points .

Hey dude, I was just on your site and realized that you don't have my BLOGGER linked, you should fix that. Just go to my link on the class blog and it should come up. vitalstuff.blogspot.com

by the way good process. I really like the scanned paper as your info graphic background. Way to make it clear and concise as well!
